Return Policy

Last updated: 1 August 2026

Important: hazy-seed.com is a publisher of advertising content. We do not stock, sell, ship or invoice any product. When you click a product button on this Site you are taken to an independent merchant's online shop, and your contract of sale is with that merchant. This page summarises the returns terms that apply to the featured Triangle Sun Shade Canopy at the time of writing, together with your statutory rights as a UK consumer. The merchant's own returns page always takes precedence.

1. Your 14-day cancellation right

Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, when you buy at a distance you may cancel the order within 14 days of the day you (or someone you nominate) receive the goods, for any reason and without giving one. You then have a further 14 days to send the goods back. The merchant must refund you within 14 days of receiving the goods back, or of receiving proof that you have sent them.

2. The merchant's 30-day satisfaction window

The merchant featured in this article currently advertises a 30-day return window that goes beyond the statutory minimum. To use it, the canopy must be in re-saleable condition: complete with its ropes, D-rings and carry bag, free of garden soil, mould, cut or drilled hems, and repacked so it can be resold. Sails that have been permanently modified, dyed, trimmed to size or fitted with third-party hardware cannot be returned under this goodwill window, though your statutory rights are unaffected.

3. Faulty or damaged goods

Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 goods must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. If the canopy arrives torn, with failed stitching, missing eyelets or in the wrong size or colour, you are entitled to a full refund if you report it within 30 days of delivery. After 30 days and within six months you may ask for a repair or replacement, and if that fails, a refund. Wind damage caused by leaving the sail up in a storm, or by anchoring to fixings that could not take the load, is not treated as a manufacturing fault.

4. How to start a return

  • Find your order confirmation email from the merchant and note the order number.
  • Contact the merchant's customer service address shown in that email within the applicable window and state whether the item is unwanted or faulty.
  • For faults, attach clear photographs of the defect and of the packaging label; this is usually enough to have a replacement dispatched without returning the original.
  • Wait for a returns authorisation and address before posting anything. Items sent back without authorisation may not be traceable to your order.
  • Obtain proof of postage and keep it until your refund appears.

5. Return postage and refunds

For unwanted items, the customer normally pays return postage; a folded shade sail typically ships as a small parcel. For faulty, damaged or incorrect items, the merchant covers return postage or issues a prepaid label. Refunds are made to the original payment method, including the standard outbound delivery charge you paid, but excluding any upgraded or express delivery you chose. Card refunds usually clear within 3–10 working days once processed.

6. Multi-buy and bundle orders

Where a discount was applied for buying two or more canopies, returning part of the bundle removes the discount from the items you keep. The refund is calculated as the amount paid less the full single-item price of the retained goods.

7. Non-returnable items

Made-to-measure or custom-cut shade sails, items returned after the stated window without a fault, and items whose damage is due to misuse, incorrect installation, abrasion against rough fixings or storm exposure cannot be refunded.

8. If a merchant does not respond

If you have contacted the merchant twice with no reply within 14 days, tell us at [email protected]. We cannot process a refund on the merchant's behalf, but we will escalate through the affiliate network and, where a merchant repeatedly fails readers, remove them from our pages. You may also raise a chargeback with your card issuer or, for purchases over £100 paid by credit card, a claim under section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act 1974.
